Ok I have some good stories for you this week so buckle up! Here are my favorite ones
-- first off our water went off this week so we couldn't do our dishes and had to buy water at the store, luckily now our water works! But was definitely weird
-- we met this lady named Marta while streeting! She spoke to us in English since she lived in America for 25 years and she kept trying to get us to spill our opinions on politics and the president and I kept trying to tell her I haven't been in America în over a year and I'm not sure what is happening there and she tried for so long and then we eventually moved on. She told us how she had some mormon friends who told her about the church and told her how we get planets after this life (she said apparently only men do), so we cleared some stuff up about what we believe and told her men and women are equal in our church and work as a combined unit in marriage, and she just told us that we need to remember her when we get our planets since she won't get one since she doesn't believe in God, literally the 20 minute interaction ended with her not believing in God, blaming it on communism, getting upset that her old classmates believe in God and then said she hopes people remember her when they get their planets, quite an interesting end to the night, she did however say mormons are the most loyal and helpful people so a win is a win I guess
-- had a lesson with our friend roxana and her colleague, the lesson with her was good but when her colleague joined it got crazy. He had so many questions and didn't really believe in what we did so we tried to explain our beliefs and anytime we had a good answer to a question and he couldn't argue it he said "Oh shoot you guys are good, you got me there" it was hilarious and so long and all over the place but luckily he wasn't mean and was nice (so nice he wanted to marry my comp) and he made us laugh so hard, at one point he said "well I don't think we need to learn în this life" and I looked him dead în the eyes and said "Do you want to go to heaven with nothing în your head" and we are meeting up again on Thursday so I'll let ya know
--met this new lady who my comp found on facebook, she got lost trying to come to the church for a lesson so it was a little frustrating but we got her there and taught a little bit and she came to church!
-- met with another friend Georgiana! She's cute, love her.
-- visited a member! She told us all about her life in the revolution since it started here in Timisoara and how she had to duck going into certain parts of her apartment since gunshots would come in, crazy time, but she made fantastic food, had ac and cold ice water, bless up
-- had most of our members at church on Sunday! (A lot were gone for a while) It was super nice and everyone was so happy to see each other!
-- went to go visit a past friend but we ended meeting another family in the bloc and we went into their apartment and talked about the Book of Mormon while the 2 year old son ran around naked
--drank two liters of water in 30 minutes since my comp bet me I couldn't and didn't feel quite great for a while haha, not important but felt the need to include
Spiritual thought: in Ether 1 we read about how God commands the Jaredites to go to the promised land. He tells him what he needs to do and then God tells them where to go and says "there will I meet thee". God is waiting for them before the promised land. Before their promised land. He is giving instruction and helping along the way. He didn't just give them instruction and say "welp see ya in the promised land" He is meeting them in the middle. He is the beginning, middle and end. He isn't waiting în our promised land for us, He is walking with us right now, în the middle of our journey to our promised land.
I love you all! Hope you have a great week!
Love sami
