"It sounds like we are in America"

Welcome everybody, I had a GREAT week so stay tuned!

Monday we went to the COOLEST city ever, Sighișoara, look it up, super pretty, everyone come to Romania and go to this city, right now

Honestly so much happened this week and I have so many stories so here are some highlights:
- had the bestest lesson with our friend andra, she liked my story on facebook one day and we decided to meet up and we met at a coffee shop and we taught the restoration and gave her a book of mormon and invited her to read some chapters and we left and she immediately started reading the book of mormon 🥹 also my romanian was pretty bad that day but the gift of tongues is real and I know she understood it #tendermercy

- taught some lady on the street while she was rolling a joint (like pulled everything out of her bag to roll it)

- met a Satanist while bloc knocking and left a plan of salvation pamphlet at his door ✌️😙 if anyone needs Jesus, he does

- some man opened the door and his bloc was hazy from all the smoke from his cigarettes and he had a giant bag of potatoes, basically super romanian man

- got told I can't speak romanian and I shouldn't even try ✌️ that #slayed

- ate at a romanian potluck and miraculously I am not sick #tendermercy

- taught a new member and we are helping her get a temple recommend 🥹

- we went bloc knocking and a doorbell sounded like an American doorbell (they usually don't) and I said "wow it sounds like we are in America" and my comp died, she thought it was hilarious hahaha

-had a cutie lesson with a friend and she prayed at the end for "jackie and samantha" and thanked God for us 🥹🥹

- we sang a song for a mission wide zoom and completely messed up the tone lol

So basically this week was amazing, I love Romania, I love Cluj, I love my comp, I love love love being a missionary!

Ok this really isn't a spiritual thought but more a life thought so just role with me (it may sound dumb but a mission has taught me to say what I wanna say so bare with me), today for p-day we went to visit a friend of the elders who lives in a little village and he took us to see his goat flock. We were walking back to the train station after our day in the village and I just said "man I just spent the day in a sat (romanian word for village) looking at the most beautiful country ever, eating romanian food in a random romanian house and walking through the romanian countryside, I'm not sure what my life has become these last 8 months but I love it" and I meant it. These last 8 months of being missionary have been nothing like expected but everything I needed. So my life thought for today is to jump into any adventure ahead of you, serve a mission if it's what you are thinking (you won't regret it, it's the best decision), take a train to a village, hold a goat, watch the pretty sunset, talk to someone on the street, it may just be the best adventure you take and be exactly what you needed.

Anyways sorry for a yap

galentines day petrecere (celebration)

Welcome everyone, how are you all?! Let me know!

This week was full of fun-ness and also just basic missionary stuff so here's what happened.

Tuesday, basically our entire day fell through #sad but we left for Bucharest that night to go to zone conference so it was all good. Sleeper trains are not super fun, but going to zone conference is awesome, so they are worth it.

Zone conference was super amazing. I also got to have interviews with my president and his wife which was super amazing. I always hear what I need to hear so it's super awesome.

The rest of the week was pretty basic, except Thursday and Friday were galentines day and Valentines Day and anyone who knows me knows I hate Valentines Day so we celebrated galentines day and got some sparkling cider and made a fun meal.
Then on Valentines day we made waffles and had a fun night, so overall pretty good. We decorated our apartment too so it was cute.

Saturday and Sunday were kinda slow work wise. Sunday though we saw some cool miracles! We found some pretty amazing people and we have some hope and faith for them so it'll be super good.

All in all, good basic week!

Spiritual thought :
I read the talk this week "Jesus Christ at the Center of our Lives" in the October 2024 general conference. This quote is kinda long but I really liked it, it says "when confronted with challenges, it’s easy to become engrossed in our difficulties. However, Jesus Christ exemplified the power of focusing on His Father, offering gratitude, and acknowledging that solutions to our trials do not always lie within ourselves, but with God. When we encounter difficulties, we naturally tend to concentrate on the obstacles we face. Our challenges are tangible and command our attention, yet the principle of surmounting them is in our focus. By placing Christ at the core of our thoughts and deeds, we align ourselves with His outlook and strength. This adjustment does not discount our struggles; instead, it helps us to navigate through them under divine guidance."

I know I can get sometimes engrossed in my trials and think about the bad and that only makes it worse. Focusing on the good and focusing on Christ will help us have a better outlook when things aren't quite going our way. Focusing on God's hand and gratitude will always make the trials seem a little lighter. I invite you all to listen to this talk this week, it was amazing!

Sorry for the long and boring email, love you all!
