In the MTC Vecii Vecilor...

Welcome back gamers (iykyk lol), another week come and gone!
So this week was another good one. However, I am getting more and more ready to leave and go to Romania. I feel like I've been here forever and we make jokes that we are never leaving this place and that we are going to be here forever. I'm grateful every day that Romanian isn't a 9 week language lol. But we leave in just over a week which is crazy, I know little Romanian but I'm still so ready to leave and just get to Romania. With the subject- vechii vechilor is a scriptural phrase in Romanian meaning "forever and ever", they don't really say it outside the scriptures but we love the phrase so we always say out of context lol, but basically I'll be in the mtc vecii vecilor, forever and ever.

This week was long but good!
Saturday was so fun, we had morning classes so we had a free evening and we went to the field to play some games which was so fun. A little sad we couldn't play overly competitive games because anyone who knows me knows I'm slightly competitive (only a little ;)) so that was lame but still overall a good time!

Sunday is always a highlight! We had church where I led the music, and only messed up slightly lol. We have a long personal study and good devotionals. During personal study I read in Jacob 6 about how we need to cleave to God like He is cleaving to us. How cool is it to think that God is already cleaving to us, we just have to reach out! We just have to reach out and choose Him and it won't be a far reach since He is already there waiting for us, how cool. We also sang one of the new hymns and we all missed our queue and couldn't sing it right, it was quite bad lol.

On Tuesday all the fsy kids came again and I was looking for my cousin Lucy but didn't see her, sad. But my comp and I make jokes that we feel like animals in the zoo, all the fsy kids stare because they are seeing actual missionaries. We always say how lucky they are to be getting to go out of the enclosure lol

The other days blend together but many many highlights!
Romanian is getting better day by day! My companion and I had to teach a lesson in full Romanian and it went ok. We just shared a scripture and bore our testimonies, it went ok and was short but we are definitely improving! Also on Wednesday we had to do limba post (no English) and it was hard but an improvement from last week!! Honestly though I'm ready to get to Romania and learn a bunch there lol

I've seen some friends from home which has been so fun! A little weird that elder Davis is leaving before me while getting here after me, fr never leaving this place! But so fun to see some friends!

On Wednesday we hit our one month as missionaries! One month ago we were at home starting mtc and now we are getting ready to go to romania, so so crazy! Only 17 more lol! We celebrated our one month by helping the new missionaries again lol. It is our third set of missionaries that have been here since we have and half of them leave before us, crazy. But helping them was so fun, I met the whole district of people going to Hungary and it was so cool to meet our mission neighbors! A year ago we would have been in the same mission and we all thought it was cool.

Overall, a really good week! Things get overwhelming and sometimes are hard but I know God is there to help and to pull me through! I really do love being a missionary! Please reach out to me, I'd love to hear from anybody! Also enjoy some photos and see more with the link!

Last little spiritual thought:
At a devotional we talked about the story of Peter going back to his normal life after Jesus died. Jesus visits Peter and asks him "Do you love me more than you love all this?" And that is the coolest thing ever to think about. Do we love Christ more than we love anything else? It really hit me in the missionary mindset, whenever I get homesick or think I'd rather be doing something else, I always think how I love God and Christ so much and I love them more than anything else I could be doing. I think it's a great thing for anyone to think about so invite you all to think about that!!

Dr Pepper Heals The Soul

Hey again! I feel like it was just p-day so this is crazy lol, but I had another good week!

This week was kinda crazy, started off with both my comp and I feeling sick and still having to learn romanian and speak it while not feeling great. But it's all good because we got better and were able to learn a little more in class. Romanian is still very very rough but it's coming. We had to do limba post (language fast) on Wednesday, which means no English, so me and my comp were very silent and spoke very broken romanian haha. But in class we are learning some weird sentence forms and it is confusing but I am kinda getting it, hopefully it keeps coming!

But a few highlights from the week! :

Devotionals! Always a highlight. This week on Tuesday we had a devotional from a member of the 70 and his wife and it was so good. He talked about how we are God's missionaries and it was so cool to hear. His wife mentioned being bold in our mission and our testimony which was great to hear because it's the same advice my brother gave me about a mission, so I guess I gotta be bold and just get out there and do it! After devotionals we always review as a district and it might be my favorite part. We all pick up on and say different things that I needed to hear and it's so cool, for sure a highlight.

Moving in new missionaries! On Wednesday we got to help move in new missionaries and it was so fun. There are over 800 and it is the biggest intake of missionaries in the longest time, it is crazy and packed. We helped welcome them, get them out of the car and started onto orientation. It was sad seeing all them leave their families but so cool to know that all these missionaries have so much faith to leave and love the Gospel so much that they are willing to do it. So so amazing. It was fun to help them move it and to get out of class lol

I also got a huge snack package! Shout out to my grandma for sending us a big snack box. It is much appreciated. I've been loving having the Dr. Pepper and have repeatedly said "Dr. Pepper heals the soul", very nice to have it again haha

We got to play ninja in class and it actually made learning romanian so fun lol

I saw Sophie! My cousin was at fsy and got to tour the MTC and I was able to find her! It was so nice and fun to see some family!!

All the girls switched outfits on Wednesday and it was so fun! Fun to wear different clothes lol

Also found out the song Dragostea din tei is romanian!! Idk how I didn't know this. If you don't think you know this song, look it up and listen, everyone for sure knows it and it's all in romanian so we listened to it in class, so fun

This week was so hard but so good.  Romanian is killing me and sometimes I think I'll never learn or be as good as my district (they are fr goated at it) but I know that where I fall short, Heavenly Father and Jesus fill in the rest! A note I wrote in my Book of Mormon this week was next to 2 Nephi 33:1 where Nephi says that he can't speak or write well but that God still put the message into the people's hearts. I know that when I fall short and am not enough God will provide the rest and carry me through and put a message into people's hearts- even through my bad romanian.

However -- prayers that I learn romanian are always appreciated because I would really like to improve lol. My comp and I learned a phrase this week "ar putea fi mai rău" meaning: it could be worse, always saying it to remind ourselves it could be worse, like at least we are learning a language with an alphabet lol

I'm loving it here, but I am counting down the days. We leave in just over 2 weeks and are finishing our 4 week as missionaries which is so so crazy. We are all stoked to get to romania and we ask our teachers so many questions because we really want to get there, we are stoked! We'll get there in just over 2 weeks and it is so crazy! Can't wait! But a little sad about leaving the district and not being with my comp. I love my district and my comp, God blessed me with the best.

Just a reminder that God and Jesus love you! As it says in Mormon 1:15 "I was visited of the Lord and tasted and knew of the goodness of Jesus.", search for and learn of the goodness of Jesus, it is amazing!!! I have so many more spiritual thoughts so email me if you want to hear more or just email just because, I'd love to hear from everyone!!

Enjoy some pictures from this week and of course click the link my mom sent to see all of them!
