CEAU FRIENDS! I hope everyone is having the bestest week ever!! I know I am.
This week started off în Timișoara, a pit stop to București and ended in Sibiu!
Tuesday
was a packed day! It was my last day in Timișoara and was busy running
around saying goodbye to everyone, teaching English and then taking a
nice 12 hour sleeper train! I'll miss Timi, the members, the friends,
the scenery and even the orthodox church bells that ring every 15
minutes. It was a beautiful 4 months.
Wednesday
was spent in București for transfers and then getting on another train
with my new comp, Sora Mansfield to go to Sibiu! The train got in at
11:30 pm so I was kinda exhausted but the grind goes on haha. So
Thursday I saw the city and oh my let me just say - I am extremely
blessed. This city is gorgeous and like I'm living in a fairytale,
everyone add Sibiu to their next travel destination. We also went a
visited an inactive member and she was so cute and we were able to share
a message that will hopefully help her bring peace to her family in a
hard situation they have. We also were able to just go finding for a
little and we explored the city and it was so fun. We also have some
social media work to do so it's been fun learning about that and how to
help our mission. A nice mix up of things to do.
Friday
was funny. We had 2 lessons where we went to their houses just for them
not to be home. Kinda typical. It also started pouring rain so we went
bloc knocking and kinda got mega bashed hahaha. Typical romanian not
believing in another book other than the Bible and then some lady
telling us how we should worship Christ not Mormon and when I tried to
tell her that we believe that and in fact don't worship Mormon she
wouldn't let me talk but she was yelling us and saying we need to
believe stuff that we already do.... she's funny. We left before they
could bible bash us with verses.
Saturday
was the most hectic. We went with the senior couple to go visit a
member who lives kinda far so we drive out there following another
member. The member that we were following ends up getting a little lost
so we got to her house late and we are eating lunch. She feeds us some
AMAZING pasta so me and my comp actually munched. But I should have
known better that romanians never only feed you one course. Then came
the chicken, pork, potatoes, two salads and two cakes. Let's just say I
was stuffed. Then we saw Sora Fowler and went streeting!
Sunday
was blessed! The branch here is so cutie! I loved meeting the rest of
the members and seeing them so excited to come to church. Super cute and
tender. Everytime I move areas my heart opens up a little more than I
knew possible and love just grows so fast. Our friend Alina who is on
baptismal date came to church and loved it! She said she
received answers to her prayers and she is so prepared for baptism! Then
just some typical sml work and we finished by streeting! Fall is
definitely coming and I can't tell if I'm excited or sad haha.
Today
we went to a castle! Super awesome. I'm actually so blessed to be in
this beautiful country with beautiful people talking about the perfect
Gospel. Mega super blessed over here.
Quick
spiritual thought over here: I read a talk about trusting in God. It
talked about a story about a less active member who was trying to be
more active and come back to church. Someone asked her why she is coming
back and she said "I knew where I needed to be" That hit me. I know
where I need to be. We all need to be with Christ and God. Having a
relationship with Them. It is the safest, more loving and comforting
place we can ever be. We need God. All day. All the time. I'm grateful
for my relationship with Him and the growth it has had over here in
Romania. Feeling super grateful and blessed lately for my mission and
for the miracles I see everyday and to a front row seat to the best
thing happening on earth. God is good everyone.
Love, Sami!
