uh uh uh nu înțelegem

Bună bună! Welcome back! Had a little bit of a more exciting week so let's get to it!

Tuesday was p day last week and we went into Bucharest to spend the day with a bunch of other sister missionaries there! A ton were there because of transfers so it was pretty awesome to be tourist around Bucharest for the day! Sora Blanchard and I went book shopping (of course) so it was a win! And we had English class and Theo came and gave me a gift because I was being transferred 🥹 he's so sweet

Wednesday was transfer day. I was actually so sad. It meant leaving Ploiești and sora Blanchard. Both have taught me so much and I'll miss both the city and my companion. I learned so much about missionary work and the Gospel from Sora Blanchard so it was hard to leave. But we went into Bucharest for transfer and I got to meet all the other missionaries and see my mtc group! It was a lot of fun, we got food, went finding and then eventually left for Oradea (we are 8 miles from the Hungarian boarder)! We took a 14 hour sleeper train to get there!

Thursday came and we got off our train, dropped our stuff and got to work. Adjusting to a new area and comp was weird but good. We are both still learning this language and don't understand everything fully so its been different haha but definitely a lot of growth and awesome to still see success. But we were able to have a successful day and even get compliments on our language sooooo, also hit our 4 months today! Time is flying

Friday was pretty much the same! We had some lessons and it's definitely hard not to have someone to fall back on but we'll learn. We did some service at a daycare where we taught some little kids english and one girl was cute and kept calling me "teacher" and gave me a kiss on the cheek at the end 🥹

We had to teach the word of wisdom and it was both of our first times doing that and it was hard, especially since I'm just a 19 year old girl telling a 40 year old women to stop smoking and she'll be blessed. Missionary work is weird like that sometimes haha but we got through it and most people are really kind and understanding that we are learning this language. So it was good!

Saturday was the same. Met with some friends, had games night, the norm.

Sunday was good. We had church and it was good! We got bashed in English by a guy talking about how Jesus didn't really come to America and he hated the Book of mormon so that was fun. But still good.

Spiritual thought:
I read in John 5 this week and it was about how Jesus was sent to do God's will, not his own. That made me think a lot. I'm on my mission to do God's will and invite others to come to Christ. In life we are told to do God's will and be happier. I've never really thought about that until I got on my mission and have such a distinct separation between God's will and mine. In my life I never really thought I did but on a mission I do. I've seen so much the days that I do and follow God's will are better and im so much happier than the days that I don't. I invite you all to read John 5 and think more about doing God's will and praying to Him to find out what that is, it'll make you happier and more fulfilled!

This week was good! Definitely struggles with the language but it's all so so good. Missionary work is so fun and fulfilling.  Love you all, write to me!

(ps "nu înțelegem" means "we don't understand", we say that a lot haha)

JOY💌

This week was so amazing! Honestly though, it was nothing special.

Tuesday we got dinner with Theo. He wanted to get dinner with us before transfers came so we all went to McDonald's with him.

Wednesday Sora Blanchard hit one year on her mission so we celebrated!

Thursday was our district activity so we went to Brașov and helped sew some Christmas cards for an old folks home. It was really fun.

This whole weekend was district conference (think stake conference but smaller) and it was in Ploiești so we spent a majority of Friday and Saturday helping prep for that and setting it all up. It was fun.

Monday we had some good lessons and I said goodbye to some of our friends. I'm really sad to be leaving ploiesti and our friends! We worked really hard these transfers and have some good friends I'm excited about!

This week was still a lot of the normal, finding and trying to talk to people. A lot of lessons fell through but we had some good ones which was amazing!

We also got transfer news on Saturday and I'm moving to Oradea (super close to the border of Hungary) to be comps with Sora Droubay from my mtc group! I'm nervous since we are both new at the language but I know we can do it with God's help! I'm excited to go to Oradea, it's one of the prettiest places in Romania and I'll be there around Christmas which will be amazing!

This week was so good. There is so much joy in being a missionary. I love it so much!!!! Being missionary is hard but it also some of the most joy I've felt. I can't even describe it. I'm learning and growing and talking (trying to) of Jesus Christ. No matter how hard and sometimes uncomfortable the growth can be, it is so good! There is truly joy in living and sharing the Gospel. I'm also learning more and more that God is in every aspect of the work! It's amazing!

Spiritual thought:
The scripture I share the most while we street is Mosiah 16:9 which talks about how Christ is the light and life of the world. I've been thinking a lot about this because I share it so often. I know Christ is the light and life of THE world and I know He is the light and life of MY world. Individually. I love the personal aspect of the Savior and atonement.

Sorry for a short email, this week was nothing crazy! Love you all, please email!
