Hey everybody! I know you probably feel like you just heard from me because my last pday was only 5 days ago, sorry about that one, the good news is hopefully this email won't be as long haha
Ok this week was short but good!
Thursday we went and did some service at a high school that is being renovated. We helped clean up and little bit and then got a tour haha. We also had family home evening with the family in our branch and I'm trying to help the 9 year old son listen to the scriptures and make him see how important they are so that was interesting haha
Friday we had a lesson with our friend Simona, she is younger and talks so fast and both my comp and I were trying to keep up but couldn't haha. But she has a lot of questions and it went well! She's going through some hard things in life so we tried to share the message of peace and hope. We also had a lesson with our friend Loredana and we are helping her through some fears. We also were able to read Alma 7 with her and show her some videos that I hope were helpful! She also fed us, what an angel.
Saturday was nothing special. We had all the normal things. We went finding and talked to some cool people. But we also have games night/english on saturday nights. My comp and I taught English this week and after it ended, games night was still going and we all played a round of spoons and one guy there thought it would be funny to hide the last spoon to make us search for it. So one of the elders and I had to search for it but didn't find it before we had to leave, so somewhere in the church is a hidden spoon we have yet to find.
Ok Sunday was whirlwind so buckle up. We got to church and our friend Luiza (the one on baptismal date) showed up and it was super nice and the branch was excited to hear that she was getting baptized! Super exciting. We taught her a lesson afterwards and went over all the details of her baptism. Then later we went home to eat dinner and we get a text during dinner hour from Luiza telling us she can't get baptized, she ended up telling her family and they are upset and she can't go through with it. We tried seeing if we could meet or call her but she said no. It was actually heartbreaking. Luiza was someone I know I was supposed to meet on my mission and teaching her was a highlight of my mission. She at first didn't even believe in Jesus Christ or that God loved her and my comps and I were able to help her come to know Jesus and know God's love for her. It was a beautiful thing. Sadly her family just can't support her. It's the hardest and saddest situation. I was pretty upset and discouraged. But dinner hour ended and we were going out finding before we had a lesson. I was not in the mood. I was discouraged and just really didn't wanna go out streeting just to get rejected again. However, God provides. When we left the house at 6pm we had found no one new for the week. But we got back at 9:30 we had found 5 new friends. We also ran into a friend who we hadn't seen in a while and she told us she was still interested and thought how amazing God is that we ran into each other to talk. We found 2 cute girls while streeting. Set up another lesson with our new friend. And had an amazing lesson with 2 new friends. We taught these 2 girls from Kenya about the restoration. They signed up to meet with us online after seeing a post on facebook and Instagram and knowing that coincidences aren't a thing, knew it was a sign from God. We answered some hard questions they had about the history of the church and cleared things up and they said they had felt something different when talking about these things. It was beautiful. While I'm heartbroken about Luiza, God provided and proved to us that other people in this city are ready and willing to accept the gospel. I'm excited for these new friends and keeping Luiza in my thoughts and prayers. God provided miracles on miracles for us that night.
This kind of leads right into my spiritual thought. Sunday was rough but I prayed real hard that day and God provided. God's timing is perfect and He will not leave us empty handed. I felt that after getting Luiza's rejection. God heard this desperate missionary's cry (literally) and He provided. The miracle comes. God is there. After hard times God won't leave us empty handed. Hearts and hands are full over here. I love you all, I love emails throughout the week and am so bad at responding but I read them all and love them if you send them!
