This week was full of things and also wasn't, so here's a little rundown for those who actually read my emails !
- we went to Arad for an exchange! It was a lot of fun but the best part happened on the way to Arad, we were in Oradea waiting for our next train so we stopped in a restaurant and the worker started asking where we were from because we don't look or sound Romanian and we told him and he proceeds to ask me out on a date and I told him that I don't live in this city and that I don't date as a missionary so he told me that he is going to come to Nevada to take me out to coffee when I get home so basically, I found myself a Romanian husband if nothing works out in America....
- had a district activity where we helped at a dog shelter for the day! Not as bad as I thought it would be - I'm not the biggest fan of dogs tbh but it was actually fine
-marțișor (a holiday celebrating spring and women) was on Saturday so we wore our pins and got some presents from members!
- had the most packed day ever! We had a member lesson/meal with a new member of ours and both the lesson and the meal were amazing! Then we hurried back to the church to meet another friend for a lesson, it was our first time meeting and she was super cool and is going to read the Book of Mormon! Then we went to other lesson with a friend who had been to church a few times and this story is kinda crazy so here ya go :
We pull up to this house and our friend (Angela) welcomed us in and her sister was there and she was going to join us in the lesson, ( I don't remember her name sorry) and then their other sister (Sorana) showed up and we have taught Sorana before so we sat down and they had some questions about the restoration so we started answering them. Except, they think I speak horrible romanian so the sister with no name was translating and it was so annoying, so I eventually told her that I can speak and understand romanian so she doesn't need to translate. They had some crazy questions and basically I left the lesson kinda saddened. Our friend told us she doesn't think we talk about Jesus enough in church. It made me almost cry. I sat there with every romanian word I had and testified about how I came here to testify of Jesus Christ and how He is the foundation of our church. And they didn't understand. It made me sad, like eternally sad. It was kinda heartbreaking. It's hard in the year we are studying the doctrine and covenants but I know it all still relates to Christ. It made me eternally sad for them that the idea of Christ isn't coming through.
So this transitions into my spiritual thought, please, in church relate things back to Jesus! Everything is and should be about Jesus! I know it'll help the missionaries out and also it's just how it should be, even while studying d&c this year.
I love you all and so does Jesus!
Send me emails!
Love sam
