be brave and be bold

Hey hey welcome back, another GREAT week of missionary work here in Romania!

Let's get into it,
Tuesday we played soccer with the youth in our branch in the morning. And no, not 'youth' plural, 'youth' as in one singular youth, just one haha. We met up during our exercise time and played with him, it was a lot of fun and he has a lot of fun roasting us lol. Then just a lot of finding and talking to people pe stradă (on the street)

Wednesday was a lot of the same! We met up and got dessert with a member in our branch and more just finding! My comp finally got her visa!(hoping to get mine soon) We were also supposed to have a translating lesson. One of my friends from byu is serving a mission in Germany and has a Romanian friend and he remembered that I'm serving here so he texted me and asked us to do a translating lesson with them! Unfortunately the friend kept ghosting us and never showed up to the agreed upon time, we tried 3 times this week haha.

Thursday was found A LOT! Or for a long time. We had a few lessons! Taught English that night (we teach 2 times a week) and yeah pretty much it, pretty typical day. It was also Halloween but they don't really celebrate that here so I forgot haha.

The best part of Friday was our weekly service. We normally go to a daycare and teach English but this week we went and helped them cook. It was so cute. I love talking to the little kids, they are learning English so I help them and they help me with Romanian. They are so adorable and my new best friends, sorry everyone these kids have my heart. We also found a lot and met a cool family who is interested! It was also All Saints Day, a very big Romanian holiday where they honor their deceased loved ones and decorate graves. Very cool. Also my mom's birthday so that was awesome getting to talk to my family for a little!

Saturday was the same. We had games night where a very interesting man showed up...... odd but good. Kept asking us weird hard questions and kept switching between Romanian and English. Very very interesting.

Sunday was so good!! We had 4 friends come to church !! We were in shock! It was awesome. We had a lesson with a friend and she can't read so we invited her to listen to the book of mormon, but the romanian is actually so bad so we started recording ourselves reading and sending it to her, so that's been good! We went out finding and it was dark and cold and no one was out so we decided to bloc knock. We went to a bloc with 60 doors and knocked them all. Not a single person let us talk to them haha. Gotta love it. Buttttt I know God made us go do that because timing was just perfect and on our way home we had 2 amazing conversations. We met one lady and we shared a message and she knew we spoke English so we started speaking in English with her and she wasn't interested but she went on to tell us that she can see the light of Christ in our eyes and the Holy Ghost "above, below, to the right and to the left" of us. She told us she was so happy that people are out sharing about Jesus Christ because people are lost and need Him. We couldn't agree more. She wished us luck on our missions and hoped we found people who need God (our hope too haha). She told us that we are brave to be going to a new country and learning a new language to share about Christ and to continue to be bold and brave and we will find people who need our message. She was an actual angel from heaven. Cool convo #1.

THEN, not 10 seconds later we stopped a girl and she said we could share a message. We shared a verse from the Book of Mormon and explained about it. She was interested and wants to learn more. She asked if we have church and meet with other people. She wanted a picture of the Book of Mormon so she could look it up and we gave her a free copy and she was so excited. It was so amazing! Cool convo #2. It was a pretty cool end to the day.

This week was good. I love being a missionary. I love Romania and Oradea and the people! It's awesome. Write to me!

love sami!

Figuring out scriptures to share from the Bible. We're going to try and start sharing scriptures from the Bible and Book of Mormon that connect to hopefully help people see how the books work together.
