ARAD-EA

This week was crazy so buckle up.

Started off with Tuesday, we did all the normal missionary things. We did some finding, we've been in a finding slump this week. We go and talk to everybody and no one wants to talk to us. It's hard but we have faith that we'll find people! But then Tuesday night we got on a train to go to ARAD! We had an exchange with our stl's there! I was so excited because Sora Blanchard served in Arad right before training me and loved it and she was so excited for me to go there. So needless to say, I was excited to see it. We had a fun train ride, I listened to Elder Bednar's YSA devotional and it was so good, everyone go listen to it!

Wednesday I was on an exchange with Sora White! Aka the best sister missionary in the mission so I was pretty hypedddd. It was awesome. We had a good day. We ate the best burger for lunch and had a good day of missionary work. The most exciting part was after the work day though. We had our DL call, which turned into a lore dump time. Pretty fun. We had coke floats and we were having a great time and just laughing and talking until someone knocked on our door. We don't have permission to open our door to random people so we were trying to talk to this person through the door and she was MAD. Apparently we were wayyy to loud for her and she kept yelling at us to open the door and said if we were loud she was gonna call cops. Pretty crazy. So we quieted down and still talked haha. Crazy day and crazy lady.

Thursday we had in person district council! Then we got profi dogs and suc (soda) for lunch before leaving to go back to Oradea. We got on our train and some guy heard that we were missionaries and that we speak English and started talking to us. Turns out he's from Canada and wanted to talk about our beliefs. But it turned into a bash in English. Luckily Sora Droubay and I spit some fire doctrine and left the wanted bash on a good note and didn't argue back. It was a win. But our train was so late. There was a accident apparently so we were stopped forever. We decided to make a video for Facebook since we needed to do that anyway. We got off the train and were making the video and some half drunk Romanian men were laughing and watching us. Always fun. But some lady loved what we were talking about so that was awesome. We made a pretty fire video while stranded in the middle of no where romania, sometimes mission life is so weird. We eventually made it back just in time for a lesson!! This friend we met on facebook and she came to English class. We had taught her through the phone before so we wanted to make sure she understood what we taught. We asked her if she had questions and she popped off with questions. We answered why our church is different from the orthodox church, the word of wisdom and the falling away. Then she hit us with questions about the law of chastity and what we believe about that topic. We didn't know how to answer those questions in romanian, but, miracle of the day, she speaks very good English so she told us to explain it in English and she understood it all. She then asked about baptism, people who aren't baptized, baptizing babies, baptisms for the dead. We taught her so much and second miracle, she understood and agreed with it all!!!! It all made sense and before we could even give her a book of mormon, she asked for a copy, she's so elect! Everyone pray for Miheala that she can keep progressing! She's awesome!

Friday was pretty normal! We volunteered at the day care again! We tried to have a lesson with a lady who just called us up but she has like 15 kids (not exaggerating) and it was so loud. So we didn't end up finishing but she wants to learn more which is awesome!

Saturday we went to a little sat (village) to help some members with some service at their house, it was fun. Then we had games night! We also taught our friend the word of wisdom again and are really trying to help her keep it. When we got there she had her box of cigarettes on the word of wisdom pamphlets 🤦‍♀️, pray for her. We also promised her that if she stops smoking, her arm which is in a lot of pain will be better so pray for that too haha.

Sunday was good! We knocked 114 doors, got 1 number, 1 bash about polygamy and 1 old man kissed our hand. Pretty funny.

Sorry for the SUPER long email, this week was jammed packed!

I won't leave you without a spiritual thought, because what type of missionary would I be. Our mission has been studying the life of Christ lately. I've been studying the New Testament in my personal study so it's been awesome. I have 2 separate thoughts. One is in Matthew right when Christ meets the apostles before he calls them to be apostles. Peter, James and John are just fisherman but Jesus saw them not as fisherman but as apostles, He saw them for their potential. I know He sees us the same way. Not just as the girl who is bumbling around romania, trying to speak and has other imperfections, but as the girl who has the potential to be great and perfected through Him. I love that.

Also in John, Jesus talks about how the came "in the world that they might know that I love the Father". Christ lived His life so people would know who He loved and worships. Let's try and do the same! In general conference it was said that the best missionary message possible is you. The way you live and show your discipleship! Let's all try to live in a way that shows people who we love and worship, ok?!💗

Sorry again for the long email but finally here's the pictures which you all probably skipped to see!

The flag is from the Revolution. Romania's flag used to have an emblem in the middle of it.  During the revolution they would cut the emblem out and throw it at the communist police cars as a sign of rebellion.
